Sagence is actively seeking client-facing Data Analysts with experience working within the Financial Service industry to help us build and sustain our client’s data capabilities and our competitive advantage.  Along with the requirements below, candidates must possess deep, practical experience in metadata management and data governance.

Skills & Experience Required for a Sagence Data Analyst – Financial Services

MUST BE HANDS ON. Candidates must have experience in collecting, interpreting, analyzing, and mapping data, be technologically proficient in performing development work, have the ability to install & configure tools and platforms, and possess the following skills and knowledge:

  • Significant hands-on experience with various IT concepts of data analysis and management (ETL, data modeling, data warehousing, data mapping, data reporting, etc.)
  • Experienced with multiple database and data governance platforms such as Collibra (required), Oracle, DB2 and SQL Server
  • Strong metadata management skills with the ability to establish policies and processes that ensure information can be integrated, accessed, shared, linked, analyzed, and maintained
  • Knowledge and experience working in the Financial Services industry, preferably in Capital Markets, Lending, and Retail Banking is required
  • Ability to drive out technical requirements with business and IT stakeholders for implementations of data solutions
  • Prior professional experience in an IT management, management consulting, or client facing role is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability in engaging, communicating, and presenting to stakeholders across both business and technology functions

Tools & Technology Required for a Sagence Data Analyst

Data Analyst candidates must be proficient in leveraging the tools and technology that drive value for our clients. Illustrative tools include:

  • Database Management Tools:
    • Relational – e.g. Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL or similar
    • NoSQL – e.g. MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, Couchbase or similar
    • Cloud-based – e.g. AWS (Redshift or DynamoDB), Azure (SQL Server or Cosmos DB) or similar
    • ETL Tools – e.g. Informatica, Talend, Microsoft SSIS, or similar
  • Data Modeling tools – e.g., Toad, ERWin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, IBM Data Architect, or similar
  • Industry Leading BI tools – e.g., Microsoft, Tableau, Qlik, Sisense, Looker, or similar

General Requirements Required for a Sagence Data Analyst – Financial Services

*Candidates must be currently authorized to work in the US on a full-time basis. Sagence does not provide sponsorship for work visas.*

  • 3+ years of professional experience working in a related role
  • Must be collaborative, innovative, curious, and resourceful, and exhibit a positive attitude
  • Have a strong desire to work on exciting projects along side smart and creative people
  • A willingness to travel to client sites as needed
  • Preference to reside in the Chicago or New York metropolitan areas, but will consider candidates in other cities
